Amy Fletcher, DPT, Dip MDT, FAAOMPT

Amy graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Creighton University in 2000.  She has practiced outpatient orthopedic physical therapy since that time, and in New Mexico since 2003.  Amy specializes in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), also known as the McKenzie Method.  It is a system of assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.  She achieved her Certification in MDT in 2007, and then became a Diplomat in MDT in 2010 after completing a clinical residency.  The Diploma is the highest level of achievement in the McKenzie Institute's Educational Program.  The McKenzie Method emphasizes proper clinical diagnosis of a musculoskeletal problem, and teaching patients how to “self treat” and prevent or minimize future recurrences of the same problem.  It has been repeatedly shown in scientific literature to be an effective and reliable method for assessment and treatment of spinal and other musculoskeletal disorders.  Amy is passionate about practicing the McKenzie Method and is an active member of the McKenzie Institute.

Amy also completed a three year fellowship in Manual Therapy in 2013.  She became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).
